Selection Procedure : (a) Short-listing for interview: BDS candidates found eligible will be short-listed based on their Final BDS marks and attempts taken in Final BDS. Short-listed candidates will be called for interview. All MDS candidates found eligible & in possession of MDS degree will be called for interview. There will be no short-listing in their case. (b) Medical Examination: Candidates provisionally placed on merit list after interview by Selection Board will be brought before a Medical Board for ascertaining their Medical Fitness.

Pay Scale : Rs 15600-39100. 

Tenure : The SSC tenure is of 5 years extendable by another 9 years in two spells; first of 5 years and second of 4 years (total SSC tenure 14 years) for those who are willing to continue subject to laid down eligibility criteria. However, on completion of 2 years service as SSC officer, they are eligible to apply for limited number of vacancies available for Departmental Permanent Commission (DPC) provided they had not attained the age of 28 years for BDS candidates and 30 years for MDS candidates on 31 Dec of the year of application for DPC.

UPSC Assistant Commandants Recruitment Examination

The Union Public Service Commission conducts Central Armed police Forces (Asst Commandants) Examination , 2013( Written Examination on  20th October, 2013 ) 
Minimum Educational Qualifications : A candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree of a University incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section-3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956 or possess an equivalent qualification. Note 1 : Candidates who have appeared at an examination the passing of which would render them educationally qualified for the Commission’s examination but have not been informed of the results as also the candidates who intend to appear at such a qualifying examination in the year 2013 will also be eligible for admission to the examination. Such candidates will be admitted to the examination if otherwise eligible but the admission would be deemed to be provisional and subject to cancellation if they do not produce proof of having passed the requisite examination along with the Detailed Application Form which will be required to be submitted online by the candidates who after qualifying on the result of the written part of the examination are also declared qualified in the Physical Standards/ Physical Efficiency Tests and Medical Standards Tests.
The tentative number of vacancies to be filled on the results of the examination is as follows :

Age Limits : (a) A candidate must have attained the age of 20 years and must not have attained the age of 25 years on 1st August, 2013

Physical Standards : Candidates must meet the prescribed Physical and Medical Standards for admission to Central Armed Police Forces (Assistant Commandants), Examination 2013 specified in Appendix-V of the Notice.  Possession of NCC ‘B’ or ‘C’ Certificates : Possession of NCC ‘B’ or ‘C’ Certificate will be a desirable qualification. These qualifications will be given consideration at the time of Interview/ Personality Test

Selection Procedure/Scheme : The Selection Procedure/Scheme of the Exam. will be as follows: (i) Written Examination: The written examination to be conducted by Union Public Service Commission will be held on 20th October, 2013 and will comprise two papers. Paper I will be held from 10 a.m. to 12.00 Noon and Paper II will be held from 2.00 p.m. to 5.00 p.m.
